March 2020 Pool Based Beginners Kayaking Course.

Meridian Canoe Club is pleased to be offering a new members course which includes a year club membership and access to five pool sessions during the course. Please note whilst this course is open to all, under 16’s have to be accompanied by an adult who can remain on the poolside during the sessions any Under 10’s accompanying adult should be also enrolled on the course.
The course is based at Crook log pool with optional lake sessions available to supplement the pool learning, these optional sessions will cost an extra £2 per session. The course also includes a river trip which will be on the 5th of April, so course participants are expected to keep paddling after the course if they are going to get the most enjoyment out of the trip.

For the pool sessions you need to bring You’ll need to bring whatever you would normally wear when swimming at the pool and many people choose to add a Tshirt that they don’t mind getting wet. You are very likely to get wet so don’t forget a towel and a change of clothes and you’re welcome to use the shower facilities after your session.
For the optional lake sessions, you need to bring to bring a change of clothes in case you do fall in, and a towel and you’re welcome to use the shower facilities after your session. Please wear clothing suitable for sporting activity, jeans will restrict movement and be uncomfortable in the boat. Footwear is mandatory Crocks Flip Flops and wellie boots must not be used, but bear in mind it will get wet, so spare shoes are recommended to go home in.
