Paddle - Newenden - Bodiam

Post by Paul French »

Dear All

If you'd like to do a flatwater paddle on Sunday 27th July from Newenden to Bodiam meeting at 13:30 let me know on pfjfrf@aol.com. It's about 4 miles ending at Bodiam Castle where there are tea rooms and a pub. The enthusiastic can paddle back. Suitable for opens and kayaks. The Kent and East Sussex Steam Railway runs between Newenden and Bodiam.

For info Newenden is on the Kent - Sussex border about 7 miles NW of Rye and 15 or so N of Hastings.

Yours

Thanks Paul
Could I possibly book a place for me plus possibly one DoE student in an open. I would be keen to go for the return paddle.

Many thanks for organising today's paddle. It was most enjoyable to do a new river in nice surroundings , and one with a decent tea shop at the end (even if it did close at 17.00!)
For those who missed it, club members paddled 5 Opens (3 tandem , 2 solos < respect to Roger and Cheryl > along the 4 mile stretch in 1h 30m to 1h 45m in the sweltering heat.I don't know if we consumed more water or sun screen!

Regards
