Be good to see you guys out there.

Barry and Malcolm's Scouts are doing Hartlake to Yalding too.
We all joined up at sluice and then again at yalding.
Did you guys manage to get the trip done in daylight? It was getting decidedly dark as I pulled out of yalding.... :-)

We arrived at Yalding at 4pm, any later and it may have created problems.
For those who are interested,Tonbridge to Yalding is 12.7 kilometres/7 miles.
A very rewarding day, fog and mist till midday with a few sunny periods plus lots of chutes to use..

Paul
Yes Tim was experimenting with biological paddle!

Steve and Kerry
Sorry we missed you if you did try to get to Tonbridge, but as you can read above, we only just finished in daylight, so we could not wait any longer.

It was a great paddle, a bit long in some section perhaps (not helped by doing Porters Lock twice of course!) but the EA are to be congratulated on putting these chutes in place , it makes it so much nicer to run through rather face the numerous portages.

C'mon Tim get it right mate, 13.3 Kms. Which equates to a little over 8.2 miles.

According to the Medway Canoe Trail map,Tonbridge Castle to Hampstead Lock is 13.3 kilometres.
But we got off at Yalding which is 0.6k less.
Hence the 12.7k or 7.89 miles.

I would like to point out the cloud in the photos is either fog or mist.
Not the smoke from the coffin nails Morgan lit up at each lock.

This year the club has done Tonbridge Castle to Yalding and Yalding to East Farleigh (in August).
So all is left is East Farleigh to Allington Lock ( 7.2k/4.5 miles).
When?

Always looking at my wood master French.

Was a grand day, even got some piece and quiet when everybody else decided to circumnavigate porters lock island, too busy eating the last of the black berrys to join in
