Recreational Trip East Kent Stour Sunday 17th Jul

Post by Paul French »

This is a flatwater trip about three miles as the crow flies on the Great Stour in East Kent

Between Grove Ferry and Plucks Gutter (try saying that after a lemonade). The trip starts and ends at a pub. Depending upon tide the trip maybe Plucks Gutter to Grove Ferry.

Meeting at Grove Ferry just off the A28 from Canterbury - Sturry - Sarre Rd at 10.30. (Map ref to follow)

This trip is suitable for any type of craft inparticularly opens or even sit on tops.

Please let Andy Garlick or Paul French know if you are interested in taking part.

In addition to the paddling opportunity there is a seaside and nature reserves quite close.

Sounds like a plan, I'll pass it on to the old man and his mate, they're only down the road.

Well we had a pleasant trip on a very picturesque river , with great pub at the get on , and a good one at the finish. It was a trip which was suitable for all abilities including new starters , but it still did not prove popular with only Paul , Jeanette and I making the paddle. What do members want?

Andy
