London Youth Games 2016.
The competition date is Saturday 4th June 2016 at The London Watersports Centre, E16 2QD.
There are 2 events taking place during the day which are Kayak Slalom and Kayak Sprint.
For the kayak slalom there are the following classes:
Event, Oldest DOB, Youngest DOB, Likely School Year
Senior Male K1, 01/09/98, Year 12 & Under
Senior Female K1, 01/09/98, Year 12 & Under
Junior Male K1, 01/09/01, Year 9 & under
Junior Female K1, 01/09/01, Year 9 & under
For the Kayak Sprint there are the following Classes:

200m Lightning Male (K1), 01/09/03, Year 7 & Under
200m Cirrus Junior Male (K1), 01/09/00, Year 10 & Under
200m Cirrus Senior Male (K1), 01/09/98, Year 12 & Under
200m Lightning Female (K1), 01/09/03, Year 7 & Under
200m Cirrus Junior Female (K1), 01/09/00, Year 10 & Under
200m Cirrus Senior Female (K1), 01/09/98, Year 12 & Under
Training dates:
Pre Selection.
Sunday 3rd April

Sunday 17th April
Saturday 23rd April – Selection of competitors. (May be working in which case the training day will be Tuesday 26th April, from 5pm)
Friday 29th April 2016: Teams must be entered by this date.
After Selection.
Sunday 1st May
Saturday 7th May
Saturday 14th May - Please train yourselves on this day as I will be working.
Saturday 21st May
Saturday 28th May
Saturday 4th June 2016: Competition Date.
Times: Suggested start and finish times are 10:30 hrs to 12:30 hrs with slightly longer sessions as the weather gets warmer.

To be eligible to represent the London Borough of Bexley at this event you must either live in Bexley Borough or go to a school in Bexley Borough.

Thank you to every one who took part in the kayak slalom and kayak sprint at the London Youth Games on Saturday 4th June 2016.
Thank you also to the parents who supported during the training and on the day.
In the slalom competition that took place in the morning there were 2 runs in each class then the top eight with the fastest time went through to the finals.
Lewis managed 86.68 on his first run and achieved 85.50 on his second run (Over a second faster).
Tia achieved 70.93 on her first run and 73.06 on her second run and got a place in the final.
George got a first run time of 58 secs and a second run time of 58.81 and a place in the final.
Maia got 172.05 on her first run (wrong way round a pole) but improved with a time of 97.13 in her second run.
In the final Tia achieved 2nd place with a time of 70.56 and George achieved 1st place with a time of 57.69.

In the Kayak Sprint Bexley was represented by Maia (Lightning, F), Lewis (Lightning, M), Tia (Cirrus Junior, F), Rufus (Cirrus Junior. M), Isabelle (Cirrus Senior, F), Kim (Cirrus Senior, M).
The fastest 8 out of the heats went through to the final and so Maia, (6th fastest), Tia (8th fastest), and Kim (1st fastest) got through to their respective finals.
In the finals Maia was 7th, Tia was 5th and Kim was 2nd.
