Guys,

A few details for tomorrow's trip.
It is forecast to be very cold , so please come prepared with plenty of warm layers and some spare in the boat. A thermos with a hot drink will be a good idea , as will some "high energy" snacks.

This is a downriver trip , and flow is reported to be higher than normal , but we still have 13kms to paddle plus early loss of daylight, so we are going to need an early start.

Meet at the boathouse at 09.30 with a view to being away by 10.00 latest, 10.45 at the Lower Castle Field car park in Tonbridge. If we can quickly unload and start the shuttles to Yalding so that a driver can be back at Tonbridge by 12.00 at the latest.

We will run through Tonbridge through all the canoe chutes to Yalding , where after a quick change into our dry gear, Tony will will be chef du jour and amazing us with his van cuisine.

Coming are : Me, Tim H, Tony, Jim, Tim C, Julia (?), Martin & Gabriel, Sandrine & Lauren (?) Paul W and Teresa (who will be going straight to Tonbridge to join us there. (Apologies if I have forgotten anybody)

See you all,

Andy (07703 823619)

Sorry Andy I won't be paddling tomorrow. Too cold for me. Tim Collier won't be paddling either. He's still getting over the flu.

I'll still be there at the get out with burgers and tea.

Have a good paddle.

Tony.

Bit of a challenge this trip with cold and distance (14k or 8.5 miles).
The strong winds forecast didn't materialise but the Sun did and the trip became a good winter paddle.

The chutes were soon disposed of..

with the younger members becoming more confidence with each one.

and Teresa and Paul in their open taking them in their stride.

On arrival at Yalding, thanks are due to Tony for offering members his Wheels on Meals service.
Or was it a soup kitchen?

Thanks to all who organised, and all who wrapped up in many layers in order to keep warm and take part - a small selection of pictures from the day can be found here:- http://www.kayakpics.martinboardman.co. ... _20152211/
