Overcast day but an interesting trip on a river we haven't paddled before.
Unfortunately the right half of photos are not shown.
To view the complete picture, right click on picture and click on 'Open image in new tab', then click on picture for bigger size.

No problems with parking or getting on at Grove Ferry.

The Stour in places is similar to the Medway at Yalding.

I think we found Gary and Don's boat and why they haven't been to the lake so often....

Julia gets talking to some locals....

After a mile or so of paddling an enormous tidal lake appears to the north.

Image

We then noticed the flow had changed, whether it was the tidal lake, we couldn't work out so it was paddling against the flow to The Fordwich Arms for a delicious Ploughman's lunch.
Image

The return trip was now paddling with the flow and much easier although we had a few light showers.

The Stour also has numerous drainage dykes to explore.

A good trip and one we hope to repeat and hopefully get the tides right!
