Usk & Wye Xmas White Water trip : Dec 5/6/7.

Post by andy g »

Folks
Nikki is now collecting names and money (£40) for the (in)famous Christmas Usk and Wye trip .

We have a new bunkhouse in Brecon .

We generally paddle on the River Usk, Wye , or other nearby rivers at about Grade 2 to 3. Previous moving water experience is essential for this trip, so please make sure that you get plenty of practice beforehand (like the Barle, or Lea Valley) Please talk to Nikki or myself if you are in any doubt about whether you have attained the standard necessary so that you would enjoy this trip.

Yes of course. You will need boat (white water specific) and all your paddling gear, lots of warm clothing as it will probably be very cold on the water (at least one change of thermals highly recommended) .

Normally we take sleeping bags, but sometimes where duvets are provided a sleeping sheet bag is all that is needed , as this is a new bunkhouse for our club I don't yet know which this will be , but will try to find out from Nikki.

You will also need to rehearse your carol singing :-)

Andy,

Please will you put me down for this trip. I'll give money to Nikki on the Barle next weekend - hope that's OK?

Cheers,
Pete C

Hi all,

With sad regret I will not be joining you this weekend, due to my back & shoulder injury.
The doc has banned me from any sport for the next few months, so that my winter paddling up the creek.....
