I really wish we could come on this trip, but it's my brother's wedding the day before and I don't think we could get there on time.

Role call for Saturday's trip.
Andy, Lauren and Emily, Kathryn and myself.
June and Alex are maybes and can someone inform Roger and Cheryl of the trip as Roger said he might be interested?
If anyone else would like to go, you are welcome but just let me know.

We meet at the boathouse at 8am to collect boats and equipment and leave at 8.30 prompt and meet Bewl Water Canoe Club at Queenborough High Street ME11 5AA car park (it has toilets) at 9.30, so those who do not need to visit the boathouse can meet us there.
We plan to be on the water by 10 to catch the tide to Burntwick Island.
If time allows and there is interest, we might explore Stangate Creek.
Once we have found a place to land we will have lunch (so bring a packed one).
If the tide has risen sufficiently, we should be able to paddle across the the island we have paddle around and through the sinking barracks.
Also on the return trip, we will be able to paddle though Deadman's Island by using Shepherd’s Creek.
A map of the trip is at:-
http://www.discoveryourestuary.com/CanoeTrail-2.pdf
A chart of this part of the trip is at:-
http://www.visitmyharbour.com/harbours/ ... swale-2012
Apart from normal canoeing kit, please bring a packed lunch and, as we are quite exposed, bring sunscreen, a cag and hat in case the weather turns.
If you require any more information, either email me or contact Kathryn on 07949394411 .

Thanks to Bewl Water Canoe Club for organising and inviting Meridian on this trip.
Unfortunately we were unlucky with the weather; showers followed by overcast cloud then heavy rain.

Burnwick Island has a special beauty.

Something surreal about being out on the water in a building in the rain...

But not as surreal as street paddling!
