Brian
You are correct about the postcode , Google Maps has an error here.

Would others please note this it is SW11 3NA , not 3WA.

Great that you are declaring for the shorter trip now , if you can leave your car/van at that get-off and possibly be prepared for others also joining you on the day. If the others do not have their kit in your van , perhaps you would be kind enough to take them down to Greenwich Yacht Club where their car and dry kit should be.

Looking forward to Sunday

As you can see from Andy's timetable we drop off equipment and paddlers at 10am with drivers doing the shuttle returning at midday.
So those at Battersea will have nearly two hours to wait.

Battersea Square is a two minute walk away (turn right from the slipway) and there are restaurants and cafés – not sure if they welcome customers in paddling kit so maybe take a small change of clothes. Maybe a shuttle could be organised with one half looking after the equipment the other going for something to eat etc.

Battersea Bridge Road is a 6 minute walk away (turn left from slipway) and there are cafés, shops and pubs. Again probably wise not to wear paddling kit when asking for a table near the piano....

Toilets are a problem with no public ones nearby.

So maybe find a café or pub with one nearby?

Finally, if you are concerned about the 13 mile paddle, next to the slipway is St Mary's Church and Sunday Morning Communion starts at 11am.....

After thinking about how we can make the shuttles easier, Brian and i have come up with the following plan.

All (including Bewl folks) meet at Danson at 09.00. We load all dry kit into cars destined to be left in Greenwich (including Bewl's)

We load the all the Meridian boats onto Brian's van and MPV. The Bewl boats stay on their car. All the cars with dry kit are driven down to the Asda car park, with Tim's taxi going into GYC.

All the Meridian paddlers are transported in Brian's 2 cars plus Bewl's up to Battersea.

The 3 cars are left at Battersea, and the group get on the water and paddle down to GYC. At the get out Tim takes the drivers to the Asda car park to bring back their cars to GYC to load up boats.

I will then shuttle Brian and Jane and the Bewl driver back up to Batttersea.

The Bewl

All boats go back to Danson if borrowed.

Great plan Andy ;)

can every one make sure they bring straps with them ( and cars with roof racks ) so that we can get the boats back to Danson whilst the cars left at Battersea are getting retrieved

Thanks to everyone who helped to make yesterday's trip so enjoyable. A pity we saw no tall ships, but the weather and the conditions were almost perfect for a great river trip. It is interesting to see how the London skyline changes each time to we do this paddle.

The shuttles worked well , thank Brian.
Good photos, thanks Tim.

Good paddling from everyone as we got on close to our scheduled time of 12.30 , and got off bang on our scheduled time of 16.30 at Greenwich Yacht Club.

Has anyone turned up a blue case containing sunglasses in their kit at the end? I am missing them.

Also Brian has found a black techline dry bag at the end which is not his. Does anyone claim it?

Received this email from Simon Cole, Chairman of Bewl Water Canoe Club:-
'Thank you both for a fantastic day yesterday on the Thames. We all felt very welcome at Meridian Canoe Club and hopefully between us we can organise many more trips together like that.'
