Tonbridge To Yalding Jaunt Sunday 20th June
Tony and i fancy doing the 4 new Canoe shoots from Eldridge Lock through to Sluice Lock and finishing at Yalding. I haven't organised a trip before but with the help of Tony it should be fun.
If anyone wants to join us we plan (if anyone needs kit etc) to leave Danson Boathouse no later than 9am or alternatively meet at Tonbridge Castle car park at 10am, picnic along the way and a light beverage i'm sure at the end.
Respond here if you are interested joining us so we can judge numbers and organise lifts if need be.
Don't forget to let Ada know if you're borrowing club boats.

Russell. You will find it very difficult to launch at Cannon Bridge nowdays.
The road is now very busy and you are surrounded by retail parks, DIY shops etc. and you will have problems parking.
The access down to the bridge was overgrown when I went past a few weeks ago.
I would suggest that you would be better off meeting at The swimming pool car park in Tonbridge (It is still free on Sunday) and paddling down from there. A little bit further I know but it is safer especially if you have children with you.

Wow -- that's about 8.5 miles. That's quite a trip in a plastic River Runner or Play boat on a river with no flow.
Something like yalding to sluice weir and back twice and then back to sluice again I think.
Perhaps people should consider the distance before deciding which kayak to paddle.
Just a thought.

I think people might just do that thanks Giles, it's a little bit less I believe than the distance stated by Giles. At least it's all down river with a break for lunch. I take it you won't be joining us Giles!

Hi Guy's
I suggest that on your shuttle you leave 1 car at Hart Lake Farm Bridge and then if anyone is struggling you can get them off with a suitable driver and the rest of you can carry on to Yalding.
