Medway Trip Sunday Nov 15th

Folks
I am planning a river trip to the Medway on Sunday Nov 15th.
This trip is aimed at those paddlers who have gained 1* and 2* over the summer or completed a beginners' course, but anyone with basic paddling skills is wecome to join.
For those who could not make the club river trip on Oct 25th , this can serve as your assessed trip.
As well as normal river paddling, we will be running 2 canoe chutes, so there will be the opportunity to get an introduction to moving water skills, like breaking out, and breaking into the flow at the base of the chutes. This could serve as your introduction to moving water in preparation for some of the club weekend trips this winter.
For those going directly to the river(please let me know in advance!) we plan to get on a Hartlake Bridge (near Golden Green). We will then paddle upstream to Bolters lock to try the newest canoe chute there, then paddle downstream through the various locks until Sluice Gate weir at which we will again try to use the chute for moving water practice. From there we paddle down to the get off at Yalding.
For those needing equipment or lifts or both, please come to the boathouse at 10.00 where will load up everything, aiming to leave by 10.30.
If you want to run the chutes (most do, but you can portage) a helmet is compulsory .
You should also have sufficiently warm clothes for mid November on the river. No jeans please.
We will aim to have at least one break mid trip to have a snack lunch, so bring something along if you get hungry, and a warm drink in a small thermos is usually a good idea.
I will post further details as we get nearer the time.
Regards
