The trip is still on with a wind forecast of 20mph or 32 kph but the Stour is sheltered.

The problem is the M2 is closed so we will have to use the M20 instead.

Will be at the lake today.

Good turnout with Nikki, Sandie, Sandrine, Julia, Andy, Phil and myself joined by Jon and Julieann, Steve, Peter and John from Bewl Water CC.

Sandie was soon talked out of the idea of doing the trip backwards....

The heavy rain and strong winds in preceding days saw a few fallen trees with one across The Stour.

However with a bit of aquatic gymnastics..

...and Jon carrying a saw in the open canoe (?), a path through was made.

Approaching Fordwich.

Under Fordwich Bridge then lunch.

The return journey with tide and most of the wind behind us.

Despite the M2 coastbound being closed, the M20 possibly being closed due to Operation Stack, roadworks on the alternative routes, a hail storm, occasion rain with strong winds, overcast cloud followed by brilliant sunshine and the fallen tree; another enjoyable trip.

Tides unfavorable for a trip in April so next will be in May.
