With members recovering from Lee Valley and the lure of Kent Canoe's Yalding Day meant it was just Phil and myself on this trip.
Storm Brian passed miles away so we had a perfect if windy day,

With the tide beneath us made good progress until we reached the rushes before Alfriston..

..which turned the Cuckmere into a stream at times.

Once through the rushes the Cuckmere widens and we made good progress to the weir, had lunch...

..and set off for the return.
By now the tide had fully came in and gave us a wider river.

We passed just one other canoe so we had the river to ourselves .

Returned back to Exceat still admiring The Seven Sisters Country Park scenery.
Hopefully next time there will be more members to share the trip with,
