Post by OSB »

New thread for equipment bookings for the club day at LV on 25th May. Please state your requirements below, remembering that you'll need a boat, paddle, helmet, bouyancy aid, spraydeck and optionally a cag. All bookings are on a first come, first served basis.

Catherine Tappenden would like to borrow a boat, a helmet and a spraydeck please for LV on the 26th May  she still hasn't managed to logon herself ! I assume the paddle she has is sufficient ? What about a bouncy aid ? Can she use the one she uses for polo ?

Hi,
If the paddle she uses is plastic then it is OK. If it is a lightweight carbon , or carbon kevlar as used for polo, then it would be better not to use it in a white water environment.
Yes , a BA (buoyancy aid) is definitely essential (and should be added to Sam's list of kit) but a polo one is fine.

Folks, just to let you know that due to unforeseen circumstances, we've had to move the club booking of the Legacy course to Saturday 25th May from 3-5pm. A new E-Alert will be sent in due course.

Thanks Andy, understand about the BA, just wanted to make sure Catherine can wear the one she is used to, so that's fine. With respect to what her paddle is made from, I haven't a scooby (the clue is in my sign on name ;) ), so I suggest we request one of those as well (2 paddles is better than no paddle).

So Catherine will require : Boat, Helmet, Spraydeck and Paddle. Do we need to collect these items before the 25th ? Or will they be spirited to sight by an unseen hand ?

Sam
This does clash with the club's beginners' course. Appreciate that the target paddlers are different, but I am sure some folk will want to help with the coaching on the course.
Not much we can do about this now I suspect, but we do seem to suffer from congestion at this time of year.
