Inter Club Paddle

Hi All,
Maidstone CC will be doing a paddle from Queenborough to Burntwick Island on Saturday 18th August, and have asked if any of your club members would like to join them.

Trip Details:
Date: Saturday 18th August
Meet time: 11:00am
Meet location: car park at Queenborough N 51 deg 25 mins, E 0 44.5
Distance: approx 8 miles (with some tidal assistance)
Boats: any boat is suitable for this trip, (it will not be a fast paddle)
Food/Drink: Bring packed lunch and drinks
Coaches: various from Maidstone CC
Organiser: Geoff Orford geofforford@sky.com

What’s there: Burnwick Island was used as a dump for bottles in the 19th Century and the remains (not all broken) can be found lying on the beach but excavating for them is damaging to the environment. The Island is mostly covered at high tide but there are some ruins of barrack buildings that can be paddle through. Quite an interesting paddle and not too demanding.
No restrictions on numbers.
