Meridian Canoe Club represented at World Canoe Polo Championships

This Week Meridian Club Members have joined up with the National squads to play for Great Britian at the Canoe Polo World Championships in Milan, Italy.

Thomas Baston is playing for GB Men

Aimee Robson is playing for GB Women

William Borett, Jack Robson, Dan Robson, Jamie Thomson and OLiver Thomson are all playing for the GB u21 Men

Grace Galvin, Sam Barry, Emily Martin and Elizabeth Barratt are all playing for the GB u21 Women

EALERT 02091001 FOUNDATION SAFETY AND RESCUE TRAINING

All,

The club has arranged two Foundation safety and rescue courses for
club members, whilst the BCU say this course is aimed at 14yr+ the
clubs committee believes that the training is suitable for all
paddlers who are able to complete the syllabus however all
participants must hold a minimum of 2 * in kayak & open canoe (old
Scheme) or 2 * paddlesport if you are in doubt that the course is
suitable for you please ask either Mark, Ada or Giles.

The Course dates are either Tuesday evenings the 7th and 14th of
September or a Full Day course on Saturday Nov 20th. Please find
attached a copy of the syllabus and a registration form for the
course.

Firstly a massive thank you to everyone who helped out over the course of the weekend.  The tournament was a huge success and  it was great to see teams from all corners of the world!

Dear all

Good news we have had the latest water quality test and the results are back to normal bathing standards and within scope so I am please to inform you that the sport of Kayaking is no longer suspended.

MEMBERSHIP EXPIRY

As of the AGM of June 2010 there is no longer a two month extended “Renewal period”.

Meridian membership now runs out on the 1st of the month shown on your membership card. I will now be sending out renewals approximately one month before your expiry.
