Meridian Canoe Club

Welcome

Welcome to Meridian Canoe Club. We are one of the largest clubs in London and the UK. We compete regularly in Canoe Polo, Slalom and are very active in Flat Water, Surf, Open Boating and White Water.

The club welcomes new members at all times and no experience in canoeing is necessary. We have a large number of qualified coaches who are only more than happy to help. The club meet many times during the week and at a variety of locations. Use the "Find us" link above to find where we meet and at what times.

This website has plenty of details about the club. If there is anything else you would like to know please use the forum as your first port of call. The forum may already have the answer to your question and if not we will try to answer your question as soon as possible.

New Members

This year the club is trialling a new method of introducing novice paddlers to the club and recommending everyone attends an Introduction course either run by or on behalf of the club. These courses are intended to give the individual a good grounding in basic skills and by the end of the course the participants should be able to integrate into the club as active paddlers. The cost of the course is £35 and will involve more than 10 hrs on the water at the end of the course the club waives the £10 joining fee for those who wish to join the club. To register your interest in on of these course drop us an email at enquiries@meridiancanoeclub.com.
The club is currently able to offer prospective 11-19 yr olds FREE courses funded by Sport Unlimited for further details email enquiries@meridiancanoeclub or see the links on this page in the menu on the left of the screen.

You will soon hear discussions of slalom and canoe polo competitions, river trips, white water weekends. These are really what canoeing is all about. You don't need to be an expert paddler to join in with of these. We will make sure you are well looked after.

Meridian Canoe Club has plenty to offer experienced paddlers too. We are always looking for new members for our slalom, polo and racing teams, to join in river trips, or to go surfing.

Meridian attracts members from far afield, including South East London, Kent, East London and South Essex. There is no limit to our catchment - if you want to join us you are welcome.
